My website V2 — case study

Role: Design and development. Year: 2023.

Website: leicaflorianrobert.dev

The second version of my website: a Laravel application with its own admin panel, to update projects and experience without touching the code.

You are viewing this case study with the Legacy engine. To see it as it was designed, enable native rendering below.

Content without touching the code

In the first version every new project meant changing the code and publishing again. V2 was born for this: projects and experience live in a database, are managed from an admin panel and show up on the site right away.

Three pages, Home, About me and Projects, with a timeline of my experience, year by year, and the years of experience (17) counted automatically.

A Laravel application

  • Laravel 10 with Blade pages and a few Livewire components; Sass, Tailwind and Bootstrap built by Vite.
  • A single account, the admin's, to manage projects, experience and incoming messages.
  • The contact form saves the message and sends emails from the server, via SMTP with Mailgun, protected by reCAPTCHA.
  • Project images with Pimp My CRUD, my Laravel package, and a sitemap generated automatically.
  • Today it runs in Docker on a server managed with Coolify.
